THE final matches of the 2025 Inter-Region and State Tennis Tournament took place at 3:00 pm yesterday at Theinbyu Tennis Court in Yangon, where the Bago Region team won the overall championship.

 

Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein, who also serves as Chair of the Yangon Region Sports and Physical Education Committee, attended the finals together with re­gion ministers, the Bago Region minister for social affairs, the deputy director-general and officials from the Sports and Physical Education Department, the president, vice-president and executives of the Myanmar Tennis Federation.

 

After the matches, prizes were awarded to the winners in women’s doubles, men’s doubles, mixed doubles, wom­en’s singles, men’s singles, women’s team event and men’s team event, including first, second, and joint third place medallists, along with awards for the best male and female players. Prizes and cash awards were presented individually by Yangon Region ministers, the Bago Region minister for social affairs, the deputy director-general of the Sports and Physical Education Department, and the president of the Myanmar Tennis Federation.

 

Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein then present­ed the women’s championship trophy, the men’s championship trophy, and the overall championship trophy to the winner, the Bago Region team. The tournament was held from 13 to 17 September. — Arkar Lin/KZL
