MOST countries in the world build their nations based on education. Education is not only important for individuals but also plays a central role in shaping human environments and contributing to national development. In shaping a democratic nation, people must have a high quality of education when putting democratic principles into practical implementation.
For the development of a country, it is essential to have healthy and strong citizens, especially young people with a high-quality education. “Education” refers to the knowledge that enables one to understand right and wrong, good and bad, cause and effect, and to think, analyze, and critically evaluate.
At present, it is particularly necessary for people to possess knowledge, wisdom, and ways of thinking that align with the democratic system. The moral and civic education subjects taught in basic schools form the foundational pillars of good democratic practices suitable for Myanmar. Therefore, it is extremely important for children, youth, and young adults to continuously receive education, acquiring not only vocational skills but also knowledge, understanding, and wisdom. The essential knowledge gained at school should be thoroughly learned and applied in practical life.
Myanmar society encourages individuals to seek and acquire knowledge from an early age. A person is not considered fully accomplished merely by seeking, acquiring, or mastering knowledge; during this process, it is also important to respect good basic values and adhere to rules and laws. Therefore, to ensure the continuous development of the nation’s education, the State is responsible for managing and shaping the “national education sector”, which serves as a key pillar in this effort.
After completing the basic education level, students should continue to attend various universities to acquire higher-level knowledge. Gaining education is an effort to develop good human resources. Only through comprehensive knowledge can individuals achieve their desired goals. When guided by wisdom, discernment, and high moral standards, one’s goals will be sustainable and enduring. Therefore, it is essential to continue preserving and applying the knowledge, skills, good habits, and positive attitudes that have been learned, while striving to develop the nation’s human resources into valuable assets.
Today’s world is rapidly changing due to technological innovations. Along with these changes, young people must strive to keep pace. As they make these efforts, it is necessary to continuously follow information and media trends. At the same time, they must be careful to preserve their own traditional culture, values, and good customs so that these are not lost amid the changing currents of the times.
