DEPUTY Minister for Agri­culture, Livestock and Irriga­tion Dr Aung Gyi visited Tat­kon Township in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday morning, where he inspected the 20-acre farm of farmer U Tin Tun Aung. The farm cultivates Pawsan paddy, raises dairy cows and buffaloes, and produces and uses natural fertilizers. The Deputy Minister also observed the paddy fields and a duck farm (600 ducks) of farmer U Soe Aung.

 

He discussed with farmers the benefits of the integrated farming system, which com­bines crop cultivation and livestock breeding to generate higher income. He also encour­aged the use of crop by-prod­ucts as animal feed and live­stock waste as natural fertilizer.

 

Later, the Deputy Minister visited Pay Taw Farm Land in Paytaw Village, where 75,000 layers are raised under a caged air-conditioned system with au­tomated feeding, egg collection, and marketing processes. He reviewed the farm’s operations and offered suggestions for nec­essary improvements.

 

Afterwards, he attended a ceremony marking the 18th World Rabies Day, held at the Livestock Breeding and Vet­erinary Department office in Tatkon Township. He delivered an awareness speech on the origins of World Rabies Day and its 2025 theme: “Act Now: You, Me, Community — For a rabies-free world, act togeth­er without delay.” The Deputy Minister also observed officials administering rabies preven­tion vaccinations. —MNA/KZL
