Meiktila Township has already cultivated 13,223 acres of monsoon paddy, exceeding their target during 2025-2026 FY, according to the Township Department of Agriculture.
Local farmers in Meiktila Township are currently cultivating monsoon paddy, using water from reservoirs and lakes, as well as through rain-fed systems in areas without access to reservoir water.
For the 2025-2026 financial year, a target has been set to cultivate 13,061 acres of monsoon paddy. To ensure this cultivation target is met and the projected yield is achieved, officials from the Township Department of Agriculture and local farmers began the monsoon paddy cultivation by the first week of August. As of October 1, the planted area has already reached 13,223 acres.
