YANGON’S most vibrant Yaykyaw Thadingyut Lighting Festival and Entertainment Market, held in commemoration of the Thadingyut Festival, began on 1 October in the well-known Yaykyaw area of Pazundaung Township, Yangon.
The festival market offers a wide variety of stalls, including food and snack vendors, clothing shops, and outlets selling household goods. It is attracting large crowds and creating a bustling atmosphere.
The Yaykyaw Festival Market, famous for its lively spirit, was last held in 2019 before the COVID-19 pandemic. After a break of nearly five years, it returned in November 2024. This year, the festival is taking place from 1 to 7 October, bringing festive cheer to the Thadingyut season. — Kyaw Soe Moe (Mingala Taungnyunt)/KZL
