FOR the Thadingyut holiday, most hotel rooms at the Ngwehsaung Beach have already been booked, according to residents and travel services.
Recently, visitor arrivals to the beach have risen, and the beach is likely to be crowded in the coming Thadingyut holiday, said residents.
“Most hotel rooms will be occupied from 4 October. Visitor arrivals will be large in Thadingyut. Not many rooms are available now,” said Ko Mon Lay, a Ngwehsaung resident who gives Mini Oway service too.
At Ngwehsaung, popular tourist destinations are Snake Island, Phaya Thonzu, Lovers’ Island, elephant camp, Taungkadone beach, night market and Japanese cafe, Surf Club, and visitors can also enjoy a boat trip to Bird Island, Turtle Island and Kyunlyashe Gawyangyi Island.
In the forthcoming Thadingyut, which is also a peak tourism season, visitor arrivals are expected to increase in Ngwehsaung and Chaungtha, as well as in Bagan-NyaungU, Popa, Mandalay, Bago, Hpa-an, Taunggyi and Kalaw. In addition, local tourists have also prepared for a day trip to tourist destinations located around Yangon Region.
The arrival of both local and foreign tourists mounted again in the previous tourist season that started in October. — MT/ZS
