THE second day of the central level of the 26th Traditional My­anmar Cultural Performing Arts Competitions 2025 was held at the designated sites in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.

 

The Maha Gita (classic song) contest, comprising the basic ed­ucation level (aged 15-20) female contest and basic education level (aged 10-15) male contest, was held at the Mini Theatre of the National Museum (Nay Pyi Taw).

 

The classical and modern song contest, which included the higher education level female contest, basic education level (aged 15-20) male contest and basic education level (aged 10- 15) male contest, took place at the Wunzin Minyaza Hall of the National Library (Nay Pyi Taw).

 

The contestants participat­ed in the dance contest, which consisted of the basic education level (aged 15-20) female contest, higher education level male con­test and basic education level (aged 10-15) female contest at Hsinphyushin Hall.

The Donmin (a traditional Myanmar musical instrument) contest took place at the Yinkyay Hmu Yadana Hall of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture with higher education level male contest, basic education level (aged 10-15) female contest, basic education level (aged 10-15) male contest, higher education level female contest, basic education level (aged 15-20) male contest and basic education level (aged 15 to 20) female contest.

 

Similarly, the violin contest took place at the training theatre of the Ministry of Religious Af­fairs and Culture, and it included

 

the basic education level (aged 15-20) male contest, higher ed­ucation level male contest and female contest.

 

The Pobbathiri Hall hosted a single Hsaing contest, and the candidates participated in a ba­sic education level (aged 15-20) male contest, a basic education level (aged 15-20) female contest, basic education level (aged 10-15) female contest.

 

Contestants’ competitions at yesterday’s events were at­tended by union-level dignitaries, union ministers, departmental personnel, staff, students and Belarusian music band mem­bers.

 

The contestants from re­gions and states will have to compete in the Dawei traditional dance ‘Yan Dance’ on the third day of the event. — MNA/KTZH
