Mohnyin, 14 October

Officials from the Township Department of Rural Development conducted an inspection this morning of the completed rural water supply project in Sinbokone Village, Mohnyin Township, Kachin State.

The inspection was led by U Htay Myint, Head of the Township Rural Development Department, along with the project engineer and members of the Village Water Supply and Sanitation Committee. During the visit, the department head highlighted the importance of ensuring construction quality and long-term maintenance.

The project, implemented by Jainpaw Ayeyarwady Company Limited, involved drilling a 4-inch-wide, 300-foot-deep tube well and constructing a 2,400-gallon capacity water tank. Funded by a Ks. 56.3 million capital grant from the Kachin State Government for the current fiscal year, construction began in the second week of June and has now been completed.

Thanks to the project, 291 residents from 65 households in Sinbokone Village—as well as their livestock including buffaloes and cattle—now have access to safe and sufficient drinking water.— Shwe Mohnyin
