A school-based HPV and Diphtheria-Tetanus (DT) vaccination campaign began on 15 October at B.E.H.S-1 and B.E.H.S-3 in Chauk Township, Magway Region.
Under the supervision of Dr. Myo Thet Oo, Head of the Township Public Health Department, health workers administered HPV vaccines to girls aged 9–10 and DT vaccines to children aged 5–7.
At B.E.H.S-1, 52 girls received the HPV vaccine and 130 students received the DT vaccine, while at B.E.H.S-3, 46 girls were vaccinated against HPV and 80 students against diphtheria and tetanus.
The vaccination program will continue in other schools across the township, targeting 2,755 girls for HPV and 1,574 students for DT immunization.— Kyaw Moe (IPRD)
