COMMANDER of Triangle Region Com­mand Maj-Gen Soe Hlaing, and relevant officials, inspected the construction site of new Thanlwin Bridge (Tahsan) in Mon­gton township, Mongton District, Shan State (East), yesterday.

 

On arrival at the construction site, the Commander and party heard the re­port made by an official of Bridges De­partment regarding the strength of the old bridge, new bridge project, completion in respective financial years and finalization processes.

 

The Commander instructed the need to complete the project in time, meet the standards and ensure the occupational safety.

 

They observed the construction pro­cesses.

 

The old Thanlwin Bridge (Tahsan), a suspension bridge connects Langkho district in Shan State (South) and Mon­gton district Shan State (East) on Nam­hsan-Mongnai-Mongton-Monghsat road section. As it was no longer fully usable for aging infrastructure, a new 876-foot long RC concrete bridge was constructed in February 2019 using the Union fund, and it is expected to complete in December. — MNA/KTZH
