Under the guidance of the Ministry of Health and the supervision of the Chin State Government, the Chin State Public Health Department launched a school-based vaccination campaign against Diphtheria-Tetanus (DT) and Human Papillomavirus (HPV) at Bo Tai Chun Hall of No. 1 Basic Education High School in Hakha on 22 October at 10:00 a.m.
The event was attended by Acting Chief Minister of Chin State and Minister for Security and Border Affairs Colonel Khin Maung Htwe, Chief Justice of the State High Court U Nay Soe, Minister for Economic Affairs Dr. Lian Zakhup, Minister for Natural Resources U Kaw Lian Thang, and Minister for Transport U Nay Lin Aung.
During the campaign, medical staff from the Chin State Public Health Department administered DT vaccines to 404 kindergarten students aged 5 to 7 from six basic education schools and 10 private schools in Hakha Township. Additionally, 452 students aged 9 to 10 from local basic education schools received HPV vaccines for cervical cancer prevention.— District IPRD
