EFFORTS by the government, Tatmadaw, and local people have enabled the reopening of more schools for students to resume learning as soon as possible in Hsipaw, Shan State (North).
Following the reopening of No 1 Basic Education High School on 22 October, two more schools – No 2 Basic Education Post-Primary School and No 7 Basic Education Primary School – were reopened, bringing the total number of reopened schools in Hsipaw to three.
Student enrolment continues, with 75 more students registered yesterday, bringing the total number of students attending classes to 1,230. Students are now able to study peacefully, and the Ministry of Education has provided free textbooks, stationery, and school supplies.
Meanwhile, Hsipaw People's Hospital continues to provide healthcare services to local ethnic residents. Yesterday, 14 outpatients and two inpatients received medical care.
The Department of Immigration has also opened a temporary branch office at the Konetaw Buddhist Learning Centre in Hsipaw to verify household lists and issue citizenship scrutiny cards for local ethnic residents. Security personnel are also conducting mine clearance around departmental offices and public areas.
Security forces continue to maintain peace, stability, and regional security in Hsipaw Township to ensure sustainable development and support local livelihoods and social stability. — MNA/KZL
