Pwintbyu Township has successfully cultivated 70,003 acres of rain-fed paddy using Mezali irrigation to ensure local rice food security during this year’s rainy season, according to the Township Agriculture Department.

 

Farmers grew rice varieties including Sa Pho Tha, Eyeyar Min, Yadanar Toe, Manaw Thu Kha, Sin Thu Kha, and others in the Township. Officials are supervising the fields and providing support to maximize yields.

 

Pwintbyu Township has the largest irrigated area in Magway Region and exceeded this year’s planting target of 69,999 acres.—Hlaing Win Lay (Pwint Phyu Myay)
