THE launch ceremony for the 2025 General Election Guide for Myanmar Media Professionals, published by the Myanmar Press Council (MPC), took place yester­day morning at ShweU Daung Hall, News and Periodicals En­terprise, Botahtaung Township, Yangon.

 

Yangon Region Minister for Social Affairs U Htay Aung first delivered a keynote address on the guidebook, while MPC Chair­man Dr Tin Tun Oo explained the arrangements made for its production.

 

MPC Chairman Dr Tin Tun Oo then presented the guide­books to Daw Khin Saw Lin, Director of the Yangon Region Information and Public Relations Department, and also presented a certificate of appreciation to officials of the Myanmar Printers and Publishers Association for their donation of 2,000 copies of guidebooks.

 

MPC Second Vice-Chair­man U Khin Maung Kyaw Din explained the guidebook.

 

Afterwards, Yangon Region Advocate-General Daw Phyu Mar Wai, the director general of the Information and Public Relations Department, officials from the Union Election Commission, rep­resentatives of political parties, and invited media personnel at­tended the book launch.

 

The book consists of three chapters: General Election Guide for Myanmar News Media, Gen­eral Election Information for My­anmar News Media, and Local and Foreign News Media’s Right to Apply for News Coverage on Election Day. It also includes con­tact numbers for Union Election Subcommissions, as well as ad­dresses and phone numbers of registered and existing political parties.

 

The guidebook will be dis­tributed across regions and states to reach journalists throughout the country. — MNA/TH
