ANOTHER 140 Myanmar EPS workers have been sent again to the Republic of Korea in November by the arrangement of the Public Overseas Employment Agency (POEA), according to the Myanmar Embassy to the Republic of Korea.
Ten re-entry workers arrived in the Republic of Korea on 4 November by Korean Air flight KE492. Moreover, 126 manufacturing workers and four agriculture workers, totalling 130, arrived at the Incheon International Airport on 5 November by Myanmar National Airlines flight UB8301, said the embassy.
The labour attaché from the Myanmar Embassy in Seoul welcomed and advised them on what to follow, while the ambassador also greeted them. The Myanmar Embassy in Seoul has ensured that labour rights entitled to Myanmar workers by the existing laws of the two countries are respected in the Republic of Korea, it said.
Through POEA, about 200 Myanmar workers were also sent to the Republic of Korea in two separate groups on 28 October and 29 October, the embassy said on 4 November. — MT/ZS
