THE government protects the rights of its citizens in accordance with the Constitution, and the citizens also have a duty to serve the State’s responsibilities. The citizens who wish to dutifully serve these duties attend people’s military service training courses and are then assigned to various regiments and units, where they proudly perform national defence and security duties.

Among those serving duties, a completion certificate handover ceremony for those who have finished their designated military service period for a one-third reduction of service time was held yesterday afternoon at the Ayechanphyo Hall of the Southern Command Headquarters. Commander Maj-Gen Kyi Thike and relevant officials, and those who completed the duties, attended the event.

The commander made a speech and presented the certificates to those who completed service duties.

The officials will continue coordinating with the domestic and overseas employment committees to assist those who dutifully served in people’s military service in securing jobs and assigning them to their preferred occupations in accordance with the prescribed criteria. — MNA/KTZH
