PRIME Minister U Nyo Saw and his wife attended the din­ner reception marking Qatar’s National Day held yesterday evening at the Lotte Hotel in Yangon.

Also present at the event were Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein, Depu­ty Minister for Foreign Affairs U Naing Min Kyaw, regional ministers, ambassadors and chargés d’affaires from foreign embassies, representatives of United Nations agencies, and other guests.

The Prime Minister and at­tendees were warmly welcomed by Mr Ahmad Ali RA Al-Marri, Chargé d’Affaires of the Em­bassy of Qatar to Myanmar, together with embassy officials.

The ceremony opened with the national anthems of the Re­public of the Union of Myanmar and the State of Qatar, followed by welcome remarks delivered by the Qatari chargé d’affaires.

Afterwards, the Prime Min­ister and the Qatari chargé d’af­faires cut the commemorative cake together and took a group photo with the attendees.

The Qatari chargé d’affair­es then hosted a dinner for the Prime Minister and attendees in celebration of Qatar’s Nation­al Day. — MNA/MKKS
