THE 10th Meeting of the SOMRI Working Group on Content Pro­duction (WG-CP) was held on­line at 9 am today from Myanma Radio and Television (MRTV) in Nay Pyi Taw.

 

Representatives responsi­ble for television programme production from ASEAN mem­ber states, including the ASE­AN Secretariat, attended the meeting.

 

The meeting discussed de­cisions and follow-up actions concerning the production of ASEAN regional television pro­grammes during the 2025 ASE­AN Summit and related meet­ings, progress in implementing the ASEAN Strategic Plan for Information and Media (2016– 2025), cooperation with ASE­AN dialogue partners on joint projects, and the submission of proposals for new projects.

 

Delegates also exchanged views on the drafting and en­dorsement of the ASEAN Stra­tegic Plan for Information and Media (2026-2035), the devel­opment of the ASEAN Com­munication Master Plan III (2026–2030), and the outcomes of the second Meeting of SOM­RI Chairs, Working Group Chairs, and the SCI Chair and Vice-Chairpersons.

 

The SOMRI Working Group on Content Production, which operates at the ASEAN senior officials’ level, plays a central role in improving the quality and development of television programme production within the ASEAN region. The Ministry of Information’s Myanma Radio and Television is currently serv­ing as the rotating Chair for 2025 and 2026, and Myanmar is pre­paring to host the 11th WG-CP Meeting in 2026. — MNA/MKKS
