THE Defence Services Medical Academy (DSMA) held its 26th Convocation yesterday afternoon in Mingaladon Township, Yangon. Commandant Brig-Gen Soe Nyunt, Rector Brig-Gen Khin Aung Tun, and faculty members attended the ceremony.

The convocation began with the National Anthem. Subsequently, the rector announced the commencement of the ceremony and led the graduates in pledging to abide by the code of conduct.

Following this, the rector presented certificates to the graduate cadets, allowing them to don academic regalia corresponding to their degrees, and signed the convocation record book. The commandant then delivered the convocation speech and concluded the event.

The honours and academic awards conferred upon the cadets were determined through an assessment process involving the rector, professors, and department heads of the DSMA, as well as rectors, professors, and examiners from medical universities nationwide. DSMA’s curriculum is aligned with that of other medical universities, ensuring that the credits and distinctions correspond with the broader medical education framework. — MNA/MKKS
