THE Department of Rural Develop­ment in Kawthoung Township, Kaw­thoung District, Taninthayi Region, held a ceremony on the morning of 9 December to hand over funds for the Emerald Green Project in the meeting hall of the department.

 

To provide capital to rural resi­dents so that they may run small-scale businesses and improve their house­hold income, a sum of 30 million kyats in project funds was transferred to the Emerald Green Project working group of Zadetgyi Village, which will implement the Emerald Green Village Project in the 2025-2026 financial year.

 

At the event, Daw Soe Soe Thi, Deputy Director (Technical) of the Taninthayi Region Department of Ru­ral Development, explained the objec­tives and benefits of the Emerald Green Village Project. Township Officer Daw Mya Yamon Phu briefed attendees on the rules and regulations to be followed by members, as well as the Rural De­velopment Law, related bylaws, and the responsibilities of rural residents outlined in the project manual.

 

According to the Kawthoung Township Department of Rural De­velopment, officials from the region, district and township levels, along with members of the Emerald Green Project working group from Zadetgyi Village, attended the ceremony. — Htun Htun/ KZL
