ACTING President of the Repub­lic of the Union of Myanmar and State Security and Peace Com­mission Chairman Senior General Min Aung Hlaing accepted the Credentials of Ambassador of Brunei Darussalam to Myanmar Haji Mohamad Sarif Pudin bin Matseru, at the Credentials Hall of the Office of the National Defence and Security Council in Nay Pyi Taw at 11 am yesterday.

 

At the ceremony, they exchanged views on the enhancement of friendly relations and cooperation between My­anmar and Brunei, exchange of goodwill visits of State leaders, and the situation to promote cooperation in education, de­fence, tourism and aviation sectors.

 

They also discussed the provision of humanitarian aid and the efforts of My­anmar in following the ASEAN Charter in the ASEAN society without interference in the internal affairs of other countries.

 

Moreover, their discussions focused on preparations of Myanmar to hold a free and fair multiparty democratic general election, and extension of invitations to electoral observation teams from the in­ternational community to the Myanmar’s elections.

 

After the ceremony, the Senior Gen­eral and the Brunei Darussalam Am­bassador to Myanmar had documentary photos taken.

 

Also, present at the ceremony were Commission Secretary General Ye Win Oo, Commission Member Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Than Swe and Direc­tor-General U Than Htwe of the Protocol Department. — MNA/TTA
