ACTING President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and State Security and Peace Com­mission Chairman Senior Gen­eral Min Aung Hlaing accepts Credentials of the Pakistani Ambassador.

 

Ambassador of Pakistan to Myanmar Mr Tariq Karim presented his Credentials to Acting President of the Repub­lic of the Union of Myanmar and State Security and Peace Commission Chairman Sen­ior General Min Aung Hlaing at the Credentials Hall of the Office of the National Defence and Security Council in Nay Pyi Taw at 10 am yesterday.

 

Afterwards, they cordially discussed the plans of Pakistan to send the electoral observa­tion teams to the multiparty democratic general election to be held in Myanmar soon.

 

Moreover, they exchanged views on strengthening dip­lomatic relations between the two countries, efforts to enhance friendship and co­operation, promotion of co­operation in trade, economic, defence, health and political sectors, and further promo­tion of cooperation in religious and tourism sectors. They also emphasized promoting bilateral cooperation in the departments of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs between the two countries.

 

After the meeting, the Senior General and the Am­bassador of Pakistan to Myan­mar had documentary photos taken.

 

Also present at the cere­mony were Secretary of the Commission General Ye Win Oo, Commission Member Un­ion Minister for Foreign Affairs U Than Swe and Director-Gen­eral U Than Htwe of the Proto­col Department. — MNA/TTA
