GRADUATION ceremonies for the 17th intake of People’s Military Service trainees were held yesterday at local train­ing depots under the respec­tive military commands across the country. The ceremonies followed military tradition, dur­ing which trainees took an oath of allegiance while holding the State Flag.

 

Officials from each train­ing school delivered gradua­tion speeches and presented outstanding graduation awards to the recipients, including the Best Trainee Award, Military Parade Award, Best Marksman­ship Award, Code of Conduct Award, Best Mine Handling Award, First Prize in Section Combat, First Prize in Assault, and Best Dormitory Award.

 

 

After the ceremonies, the chairman of the Nay Pyi Taw Council, the chief ministers of regions and states, command­ers from military commands, and other officials met with the graduating trainees and cordial­ly encouraged them.

 

The trainees of the 17th in­take of People’s Military Service were trained in subjects such as physical fitness, military train­ing, military tactics, and general studies.

 

According to the 2008 Con­stitution, Section 385 stipulates that every citizen has the duty to defend the independence, sovereignty, and territorial in­tegrity of the State, while Sec­tion 386 provides that every citizen shall undergo military training and serve in the de­fence of the State in accordance with the law.

 

Graduates of the 16th batch of People’s Military Service training have acquired the skills to work in an organized man­ner (teamwork) and will proudly carry out their duties in nation­al defence and security within their respective battalions and units, exemplifying nationalism, patriotism, team spirit, and es­prit de corps. — MNA/KTZH
