A rich German family with major stakes in well-known businesses has admitted to past links to Nazi abuses. The Reimann family promised to make a donation to charity.

The German newspaper Bild reported on Sunday that two members of the founding family of the JAB Holding Company were self-proclaimed supporters of Adolf Hitler.

The two reportedly used Eastern European citizens and French prisoners of war as forced laborers at their factories.

The family's investment firm is known for holding major stakes in Krispy Kreme Doughnuts and other companies.

Peter Harf, a managing partner of the company, told the media that the report is correct.

The family has revealed a plan to donate 10 million euros, or about 11.3 million dollars, to charity.

In Germany, companies that collaborated with the Nazis during World War Two, such as Volkswagen and Siemens, have compensated Jewish people through a fund they created along with the government.
