A motorist was killed after a car hit into a concrete median strip in Hpa-an Township, Kayin State, according to the Ministry of Home Affairs.
    

The accident occurred on the Yangon-Hpa-an Road near Hpa-an Township at about 5:30 p.m. on August 16. A Mazada car driven by a man identified as Saw Aung Myint Oo crashed into a concrete median strip after the driver lost control of the car. The motorist was pronounced dead on the spot in the incident. Firefighters from a local fire service station rushed to the scene of accident to carry out the rescue operation with the use of a fire engine.
    

The corpse of victim was sent to Hpa-an Hospital for medical examination and action has been taken against the motorist over reckless driving by the local police.
