No casualties were reported after a fire broke out at a high school (branch) in Mabein Township, Northern Shan State early this morning.
The flame was brought under control 35 minutes later and was completely extinguished about an hour later. A group of firefighters led by Township Administrator U Kyaw Naing and the commander of
township police force Police Major Myat Min Kyaw in cooperation with local authorities and residents were involved in the activities.
A two-storey school structure measuring 140 ft. in length, 30 ft. in width and 24 ft. in height plus school furniture were destroyed by the blaze, but no casualties were reported in the fire. A total of 18 Grade-10 students are currently accommodated at san old school in the village.
The cause of fire is still unknown, according to a source from the General Administration Department.
